Internet Marketing Tips and Strategies That Can Grow Your Online Business

Written By Our Expert Internet Marketing Author, Allen Graves on 9-27-2010

To develop and execute a successful Internet marketing campaign, there are a few important tips that you should be aware of and there are a few strategies that you cam implement to give you a better chance at success. This article discusses a few of the fundamental Internet marketing strategies and then gives you a very important insight from the mind of a very successful Internet Marketer.

Internet Marketing Strategies

Strategy #1 - Original, Compelling Content

The very first strategy that you should implement is to use only original content on your websites and on your syndicated content. We'll discuss syndicated content shortly. What I mean by original content is that all of the words on your site need to be completely unique and unlike any other content on the Internet. It's OK to have a little content that can be found elsewhere, I mean, odds are that someone out there has already written an exact-match sentence that you write. But as long as you write your own content from your own mind - or have it written for you from someone else's own mind, you should be just fine.

It's also OK to have content on your site that was legally copied from another site, such as news feeds or other data, but you should keep this content at a minimum. Very rarely does a website consisting of all copied content rank well in the search engines, which is where you will most likely be getting most of your traffic initially.

Remember this section when we discuss syndication of your content, which is where you write content and submit it for publication at other sites such as article directories, blogs or other authority websites.

Strategy #2 - Don't Make Me Think!

Internet surfers are very impatient. If they don't find what they are looking for right away, they will click away and find someone else's website - probably that of your direct competition.

So as you are designing your entry pages, advertisements, articles and other content, commenting on blogs, submitting articles or anything else your plan involves, you need to remember to let the reader know that they have found that piece of information they are looking for and they can get it, without jumping through hoops, at your website.

Strategy #3 - Content Syndication

Content syndication is the process of writing content and getting it published at a variety of other websites, such as blogs, authority sites and article directories.

Of all these types of syndication strategies, the easiest to get done is article marketing. Obviously, I have been using article marketing for syndication purposes for a long time. After all, this very article is a piece of syndicated content that I wrote. See how it works?! I got this article published at an article directory and you found it - and if everything goes right, I would write content that was compelling enough for you to click on my links and get to my sales page or main website.

And this is how it works when you are a guest author at a blog, when you submit content to an authority website like about.com or e-how.com, when you post information on forums or blog comments and when you submit to article directories and other websites. The better your content, the more chance that the visitors will click through to your website.

And the great thing about traffic that comes from your syndicated content is that it is highly targeted, meaning they are kind of "pre-qualified" as prospects. They are interested and willing to take a look at what you are offering, a solution to their problem.

Strategy #3 - Paid Advertising

Paid advertising comes in many different forms when it comes to Internet Marketing. My suggestion would be to stay away from paid advertising until you establish a baseline income and you can confidently alot a portion of that income to advertising.

Of the multidude of advertising possibilities, the most popular are Pay-per-click advetising, banner advertising and advertising by buying space for links on a popular website. The last option above is not recommended.
