Our Take On Article Spinners    10/28/2009 by: Allen Graves

Article Marketing Blog XML

We do not like article spinners and we do not approve of using them on our website.

I'm not saying that some of them cannot produce OK results if you put a lot of time and thought into it.

To be completely honest and open about it, I am beginning to get really ticked off by the whole idea of taking a piece of content and spinning it dozens of times to submit to an article directory.

Here's why...

  • The boy dropped a bucket
  • The young man fumbled a pail
  • The guy spilled the container
  • The masculine lad midhandled the urn
  • The youngster let slip the basin
  • The small male child...

You see the issue yet? Probably not.

Let me explain further.

The search engines are smart - smarter than most of you think. So when they come across an article which has been spun like the sentences in the example above, they know that it is nothing but rehashed crap. They know that it is the same article they already found on 20 other websites. So they discount it.

We can also look at it on the article directory level, which is where I am coming from. Article directory owners do not want the same thing repeated over and over again in their database. That leads to a poor user experience and fewer repeat visitors. For those of you who didn't know that repeat traffic is big for successful article directories, I'm here to tell you that it is.

If you were searching for "The boy dropped a bucket" and you came across 10 different articles saying the exact same thing (just using different words) then chances are you are going to leave unhappy, never come back and the directory will have a bad rap in your mind.

Now multiply that by thousands of visitors every day, add to that the fact that search engines don't like it, and you'll start to realize why we don't like article spinners.

Spun content just isn't good for websites.

Here's something to think about...

Those who use article spinners are using them to syndicate their content on other websites...not their own. Never do you hear them say that they are spinning thousands and thousands and countless thousands of articles to use on their own websites!

Wanna know why?

Just go back to the top and start reading again...THAT'S WHY! These people aren't stupid, they know what's up.

In the past, spinners were great, and they worked very well. But today, using a spinner is simply bad Karma and it WILL come back and bite you on the ass.

Feel free to comment...

Good luck and KEEP WRITING!
