You can still get back together with you ex, but you need to determine whether or not they still have feelings for you before you try. Ask yourself the following questions to see if your ex still cares about you:
1. Did my ex say that they wanted to stay friends when we broke up? Obviously, this is something that many people say during a break up, even though they don't really mean it. So this question alone won't tell you whether your ex still loves you. However, take a look at their actions after. Have they done things that show that they want to stay friends?
2. Does my ex try to contact me? Whether through email, texting, or phone, when your ex tries to contact you, it's a sure sign that they still care about you. Also, pay attention to the types of things that your ex wants to talk about when they call. If they want to talk about your relationship, that's a very good sign.
3. Is my ex dating someone else? This also can be a tricky sign to work out. Everyone responds to break ups in different ways and some people respond by jumping into a new relationship. Others respond by dating several people. If your ex does not seem to be seriously dating anyone new, then you stand a good chance of getting back together.
4. How does my ex respond when they see me? Be honest with yourself here. Do they pretend that they don't see you? Do they act nervous around you? Are they friendly and seem happy to see you? Your ex's reaction when they see you should help you to know whether they still love you or not. You know their personality best. What do the signs say?
5. Does my ex seem to want to get back together? This is another question that you should answer with brutal honesty. If you want to get back together with your ex, you have probably done something that will show them that this is true. Have they responded positively? Did it seem like they might be open to the idea of getting back together with you?
Asking yourself these questions will help you think more about your ex and what they might be feeling. Often, people try to rush into getting back together without giving much thought to what their ex is feeling. This almost always backfires.
